This is my own marinara sauce recipe.  It is light and fresh and will WOW you and your family or guest.  You can substitute cubed chicken breast for the italian sausage if you prefer. Enjoy........
Ingredients:
1/4 cup OLIVE OIL DEFINO
2 tbsp. minced garlic
1 package sweet italian sauge, sliced, about 1-1/4 lbs.
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1 large red bell pepper, diced
1 tbsp. italian seasoning
1 heaping tbsp. dried sweet basil
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup wine, white or red
4 tbsp. capers
2-28 oz. canned whole tomatoes, pureed in blender
Instructions:
In a blender puree tomatoes on high for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside
In a large skillet over meduim-high heat brown sausage in OLIVE OIL DEFINO
Stir in garlic, bell pepper, yellow onion, spices and herbs. Cook about 5 minutes
Add mushrooms, capers, and wine. Stir to incorporate.
Pour in pureed tomatoes, cover and bring to a boil.
Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Server over angel hair pasta, top with freshly grated cheese.......
